Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time. It affects all areas of our global economy and society–including the fragrance industry.

The impact of climate change is probably the most visible through extreme weather events such as floods, storms, or droughts which are becoming evermore frequent and have disrupted natural ecosystems and agricultural production.

As an industry that is deeply rooted in nature and agriculture, the fragrance industry is not immune to the impacts of climate change, particularly as natural raw materials–grown all over the world–depend on resilient ecosystems in a healthy and stable environment or they cannot flourish.

These climate change effects impact the security of the supply of natural raw materials and undermine the resilience of supply chains, particularly for natural ingredients.
