Royal DSM has appointed Parand Salmassinia as president, personal care and aroma.

Salmassinia succeeds Gareth Barker, who will be taking the lead on global marketing and business development at DSM Health, Nutrition & Care. She will join the Health, Nutrition & Care leadership team and report to its president, Philp Eykerman.

Salmassinia has 20 years of industry experience and previously served as vice president, personal care and aroma, where she boosted the business unit’s sales growth by high double digits, per DSM, and oversaw product management, sales and commercial organization.

Prior to DSM, she held ropes with Seppic, Merck and Induchem’s business in the Americas.

“I’m taking over a business that’s going from strength to strength and showing exceptional resilience despite all the challenges it has had to face due to recent global events," said Salmassinia. "Based on its results, I have every confidence that our team and strategic choices have created a strong foundation for the future and I’m looking forward to consolidating and building on the cornerstones of this success—customer-centricity, impeccable services and sustainable practices.”
