The Monell Center has announced the addition of Stephen Manheimer to its board of directors.

Manheimer, who has been a member of Monell’s International Advisory Council since 2001, is a third-generation member of a natural flavors and fragrances family. First associating with the organization in the early 1970s, the Manheimer family established an annual dinner celebrating the center’s scientists and remained closely associated over the following decades.

The Manheimers sold their business to Kerry in 2004; today, Stephen serves as executive vice president.

Manheimer was elected as the youngest ever president of the Essential Oil Association (the precursor of what is now the International Fragrance Association, North America) in 1973. He is the recipient of numerous awards and currently serves on the board of the Research Institute of Fragrance Materials.

“Steve’s lifetime of experience in the flavor and fragrance industry coupled with his long and deep connection to Monell make him an exceptionally valuable addition to our Board,” said Monell Center board chair Dwight Riskey, Ph.D. “His broad knowledge and extensive connections will benefit the Center immensely as we move forward into our next 50 years.”
