Victoria Alvarez Saavedra, from Virginia Dare Extract Co., Inc., received the president’s excellence in service award, which acknowledges individuals who have devoted a significant amount of time to building the pillars of the organization without serving on the board of governors or as FEMA president.

Saavedra has been a leader in FEMA committees and activities for almost 20 years.

Alex Brewer, from McCormick & Company, received the emerging leader award, recognizing  new volunteers who demonstrate valuable leadership qualities to support FEMA’s mission.

Brewer has supported FEMA’s regulatory activities in leadership roles for more than five years.

Jerry Bowman, executive director, said, “Both of these volunteers have been instrumental in advancing FEMA’s important committee initiatives, which are vitally important to all of our members. Particularly in the past year, these leaders showed extraordinary commitment to advancing FEMA’s strategic goals, and we thank them for their service.”
