Aryballe Technologies has appointed Jean-Christophe Simon as chairman of its board.

Aryballe, a digital olfaction specialist, is the creator of NeOse Pro, a bio-inspired “digital nose” which mimics the human olfactory receptors that recognize smells, using sensors to detect, measure and identify several hundreds of odors.

Simon brings more than 25 years in R&D and innovation management to the team and has extensive experience in consumer products for the food, home appliances and cosmetics industries. He has served as chief innovation officer and senior vice-president of the group research at Groupe SEB since his appointment in 2010. Prior to this, he held positions at L’Oréal, Kao Group, Nikon and Essilor International Joint Research Center.

In his new role, he will drive Ayrballe’s industry expansion as the demand and use applications for its technology continues to increase.

“We’re delighted and honored to welcome Jean-Christophe as Aryballe’s Chairman of the Board,” said Sam Guilaumé, Aryballe CEO. “His global industry experience and international vision will have a profound impact on our advancement as a global technology leader in digital olfaction and help position the company for transformative growth.”

“Aryballe’s technology is groundbreaking. I am excited to have the opportunity to build on Aryballe’s success in the food and beverage, fragrance and cosmetic, and automotive industries, and to help expand the reach of Aryballe’s versatile technology,” said Simon. “Aryballe has created diverse applications to deliver outstanding industry outcomes, B2B as well as B2C. I look forward to working with this experienced and passionate team to contribute to Aryballe’s next developments as chairman of the board.”
