Symrise Health and Nutrition Advisors to Help Target R&D, Product Development Efforts

Symrise (Holzminden, Germany) has established a scientific advisory board for its health and nutrition division. The group will advise the company on the development of new technology and ingredients for supplements and health/functional food products. The board includes:

  • Gerhard Rogler, professor for gastroenterology and hepatology at the UniversitätsSpital in Zurich
  • Christian Barth, scientific director of the German Institute of Human Nutrition
  • Ulrich Noehle, independent scientific consultant (previously: CEO of Nordzucker and director of nutritional science, food legislation and quality management at Nestlé Germany)

“We are very pleased to have won such world-class experts as members of our new advisory board,” said Simone Peschke, head of the Symrise competence center for health and nutrition. “Their expertise in the areas of medicine, chemistry and nutrition ideally complement each other and will provide valuable stimuli for our research and development work.”

Dirk Bennwitz, senior vice president of consumer health, added, “Together with our external advisors we aim to identify the nutritional needs of the consumers early on and respond to these with tailor-made products.
