Danisco Award 2006

Danisco has announced that the Danisco Award 2006 goes to Hanne Frøkiær, associate professor at BioCentrum under the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Along with the Award, Frøkiær receives DKK 25,000 for her research into the effect of food on the immune system with particular focus on microorganisms, fats and bioactive proteins.

Of the Award winner, Danisco CEO Tom Knutzen said, “Hanne Frøkiær’s food research shows that food is more than just nutrition—it’s also disease prevention. The interaction between the food we eat and the human genes may ultimately provide us with an understanding of how ordinary food can improve our health.”
