Mastertaste Inc. (Teterboro, NJ) has appointed Markus Eckert vice president of technical for flavors, North America. In this role, Eckert is responsible for all research and development initiatives and will liaise with the natural products and fragrance divisions on commercialization of technologies. Eckert was previously with Flavor America for Danisco USA, Inc. and International Flavors and Fragrances.
In addition, the company has appointed Juan Varela vice president of global key accounts for the natural products and fragrance divisions. Varela has 15 years of experience in the field, previously with Haarmann & Reimer and Symrise.
Ton Mesters has been named vice president of business development of citrus products for Mastertaste’s natural products division. Prior to this new position, Mesters served as vice president of development for the company’s flavors division.
