Wixon (St. Francis, Wisconsin) has named Michael Walters vice president of sales and marketing. The position was formerly held by Wixon principal Chuck Ehemann, who is taking a year’s sabbatical.
“I plan to move ahead with improving the sales organization and the sales processing systems to ensure significant and measurable improvements in the productivity of our sales efforts,” said Walters, who has more than 30 years experience in sales, marketing and management in the food industry for both the national and international marketplace.
“Long term, we really want to build a performance-based environment through talent development and mentoring systems. Also, we plan to further evolve the cross-functional teams that are supporting our three key divisions: consumer, industrial and protein,” Walters added.
Prior to joining Wixon, Walters was a director of sales and business development for Spicetec Flavors & Seasonings and vice president of sales at Griffith Laboratories. Walters is a member of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and IFMA.
