Takasago International Corp. (USA) Flavor Division announced it has appointed Melis Cakirer as a junior oral care flavorist. In this position, Cakirer will focus on creating flavors for oral care products that include toothpaste and mouthwash. She also is involved in raw material sourcing and the evaluation of mint oil blends that maintain and ensure flavor quality.
Cakirer was previously employed at Colgate Palmolive, where she was most recently a senior research scientist. Prior to her work there, she held scientific and flavor development positions at the Florida Department of Agriculture, the National Coffee Research Center, Pennsylvania State University and Flavors of North America.
