Sensient Technologies Corp.’s fourth-quarter earnings rose 3%, although total revenue and flavors and fragrance group revenue slipped during the quarter.
The company said its earnings rose to $28 million from $27.2 million a year ago. Quarterly revenue fell 1.4% to $351.1 million from $356.2 million a year earlier. The flavors and fragrances group reported quarterly revenue of $210.1 million compared to the $216.9 million reported in the comparable period last year. Operating income for the unit rose 2% to $29.2 million, compared to $28.7 million in last year’s fourth quarter.
Revenue was about $1.5 billion for the full year in both 2013 and 2012, relatively unchanged. The flavors and fragrances group reported revenue of $881.3 million in 2013, up from $875.3 million last year.
