Firmenich’s manufacturing facility in New Ulm, Minnesota has received a Minnesota Star (MNSTAR) as part of a Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MNOSHA) program that recognizes worksites where managers and employees work together to develop safety and health management systems.
The site, which manufactures flavors for the food and beverage industry with an emphasis on savory flavors, is one of only 38 workplaces in Minnesota to receive this award out of an estimated 65,000 workplaces in the state. To achieve this award, Firmenich worked with three OSHA consultants to go beyond basic compliance with all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and develop ways to prevent job-related injuries and illnesses.
