ASP to Host An Evening of Exploration at the New York Botanical Gardens

The American Society of Perfumers (ASP) is set to host an event at the New York Botanical Gardens, Bronx, New York on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.

“An Evening of Exploration: Orchid Mystique” is designed to unite the fragrance industry—from supplier to formulator to marketer to perfumer—in an evening of networking, perfumer artistry and product development. Designed to foster collaboration and commerce, the evening begins with a tour of the Botanical Garden’s Orchid Show, where orchids are featured in elaborate kaleidoscopic displays.

Immediately following, a hosted reception features a variety of vignettes highlighting ingredient suppliers, perfumers and cosmetic formulators—and their creations. Each vignette selects an orchid varietal to create a scent that depicts the essence of the given orchid. These vignettes will feature finished fine fragrance, personal care products and scented candles.

An Evening of Exploration: Orchid Mystique will help bridge the gap of suppliers, marketers, formulators and perfumers involved in fragrance product development,” says Chris DiIenno, President of the American Perfumer Society. “It is our goal to foster collaboration between the Art and Science of Perfumery and expose the value of our expertise as they combine to form our amazing finished products. Orchids with their natural beauty, form and functionality are the perfect embodiment of this concept.”

Registration fees are $275 for ASP members and $325 for nonmembers. The price includes the Orchid Show and networking cocktail reception. For more information visit www.Perfumers.org.
