Givaudan Half-Year Results

Givaudan (Geneva) has announced half-year 2006 sales (ending June 30) of CHF 1,474 million (2005: CHF 1,368 million). Gross profit for the period reached CHF 724 million. Flavor and fragrance segment sales totaled CHF 868 million (59% of total sales) and CHF 606 million (41% of total sales), respectively. Flavor sales benefited from strength in the Americas and Europe. Asia Pacific results for the segment were slowed by a dip in Japanese sales. The US and European markets contributed to the company's double-digit fine fragrance sales increase. Givaudan also experienced double-digit growth rates for fragrance ingredient sales.
