Sensient’s Third Quarter 2008 Results; Edmonds Joins Board

Sensient Technologies Corp. (Milwaukee) has reported third quarter (ended Sept. 30, 2008) revenue of $318.6 million, up 8.3% from the same quarter 2007. The flavors and fragrances group reported revenue for the quarter of $206.5 million, an increase of 7.0%. The group benefited from improved pricing and favorable foreign currency translation. In addition, higher sales and favorable product mix in the quarter offset the impact of increased raw material and energy costs.

Of the results, Sensient chairman and CEO Kenneth Manning said, “Sensient has achieved 11 consecutive quarters of strong revenue and earnings growth. Our consistently strong results demonstrate that our strategies for organic growth are succeeding.”

In other news, Sensient has announced that Robert Edmonds, president and CEO, has been elected to the board of directors. Edmonds joined the company in 2005 as general manager of food colors, North America, and was elected president and CEO in August 2007.
