Norwest Ingredients (Royal City, WA) has appointed John Hughes to lead its sales and business development efforts for peppermint and spearmint oils for the food, flavor and fragrance industries.

Hughes has more than 20 years of industrial sales experience and previously held positions with Cargill's corn milling and sweetener business units, and Millennium Specialty Chemicals.

He is the company's first personnel move outside its Royal City operations and will be based in the metro New York/New Jersey area.
