The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials, Inc. (RIFM) announced that for the second consecutive year, an RIFM study on a fragrance ingredients appeared in the top 10 list of most cited papers from the Food and Chemical Toxicology journal. The study, “A toxicologic and dermatologic assessment of cyclic and non-cyclic terpene alcohols when used as fragrance ingredients,” was authored by D. Belsito, D. Bickers, M. Bruze, P. Calow, H. Greim, J.M. Hanifin, A.E. Rogers, J.H. Saurat, I.G. Sipes and H. Tagami, and it appeared in the 2008 Food and Chemical Toxicology, volume 46, issue 2, and ranks as the No. 2 article for the period 2008–2012.
Additionally, the fourth most downloaded from Food and Chemical Toxicology in 2010 is the RIFM special review supplement “A safety assessment of saturated branched chain alcohols when used as fragrance ingredients,” by D. Belsito, D. Bickers, M. Bruze, P. Calow, H. Greim, J.M. Hanifin, A.E. Rogers, J.H. Saurat, I.G. Sipes and H. Tagami.
