The Japan Flavor and Fragrance Materials Association (via the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association) is reporting that 2-ethyl-5-methylpyrazine (coffee pyrazine, FEMA# 3154 and CAS# 13360-64-0) and isopentylamine (FEMA# 3219, CAS# 107-85-7) are now legally permitted for use in flavorings in Japan. The designation was determined by the country’s Ministry of Health Labor and Welfare.
