The shipping of beverages throughout the world can be cost-prohibitive due to their weight; typically, they contain 90% to 95% water. Moreover, stocking a bar with a variety of drinks can be cost and space prohibitive—not to mention the time and expensive ingredients needed to ferment and form various crafted beverages. The ability to create beverages by adding water to a concentrated mixture of flavors would therefore save on both storage and shipping costs.

In response, this patent describes a flavor system, method and apparatus for making beverages that taste like crafted beers, wines, champagnes and liquors. The method involves combining water with a kit including a plurality of flavor compounds, a quantity of yeast, a quantity of sugar and a container.

The flavor compounds used may include a vast array (see patent for full list) chosen from a first group including: 3-methylbutanol, 2-methylbutanol, 2,3-butanedione, vanilline, furaneol and others, from 0.1 g/L to 5,000,000 μg/L; a second group including: 2-phenylethanol, 2-phenylacetic acid, myrcene, geraniol, linalool and others,  from 1 μg/L to 75,000 μg/L; and a third group including: hops extract, tetra-iso-extract 10%, rho-iso-extract 10%, isomerized hop extract 30%, cis-isohumulone and others, from 1 μg/L to 30,000,000 μg/L.
