IFEAT Study Tour: Yunnan and Guangdong, China 2014

IFEAT is organizing a study tour of Yunnan and Guangdong, China from Aug. 31, 2014 - Sept. 8, 2014.

This study tour has been designed to give participants much greater insights into the production, processing and trade in both essential oils and aroma chemicals. The tour is centred on two locations, namely Guangdong Province, which borders Hong Kong, and Yunnan Province, located in the far southwest of China bordering Burma, Laos and Vietnam.

During the Guangdong visits, participants will gain an intimate knowledge of various essential oils and aroma chemicals including: Star aniseed oil: plantation, distillery and factories; Cassia oil: plantation, distillery and factories; Natural cinnamic aldehyde and natural benzal aldehyde; and more.

During the visits to Yunnan, participants will visit: Eucalyptus oil: plantation, distillery and factories; Geranium oil: plantation, distillery and factories; Citronella oil: plantation, distillery and factories; and Turpentine: factory.

The timing of the tour has been selected to match the harvest and major distillation times for these major Chinese essential oil crops. Bookings for the tour are offered on a first come, first serve basis and are limited to just 40 attendees.
