WFFC Fall Seminar

The WFFC will hold its fall seminar on November 14 at the Saddle Brook Marriott, Saddle Brook, NJ. The theme of this year's fall seminar is "What's New in the Flavor & Fragrance Industry Today?" Here's a rundown of the speakers:

  • 9-9:30 AM: Helen Feygin (president, Intuiscent LLC) talks about translating life-style trends into product scents
  • 9:30-10 AM: John Cox (general counsel to the FMA, The Roberts Group) discusses regulations in fragrance, problems and solutions
  • 10-11 AM: Satoshi Masumoto (marketing manager, Beverages, North America) shares the history of tea and then Eric Spenske (director of sales excellence, Quest Flavor, North America) provides insight to the American tea market, including a tasting of market products
  • 11-12 PM: Indrani Maity (owner, Healing and Rejuvenation Center) covers the use of essential oils for rejuvenation and longevity
  • 12-1 PM: Buffet Lunch
  • 1-1:40 PM: Anne Marie Api (vice president, human health science, RIFM) discusses the application and implementation of the dermal sensitization QRA approach for fragrance ingredients
  • 1:40-2:10 PM: Karen Manheimer (vice president basic products division, Mastertaste) talks about botanical extracts
  • 2:10-2:30 PM: Afternoon Break
  • 2:30-3 PM: Don Giampetro (vp sales, iTi Tropicals Inc.) covers the tropical and exotic fruits, present and future
  • 3-4 PM: Mandy Aftel (natural perfumer and owner, Aftelier Perfumes) ends the day with a discussion on creating natural perfume, including an interactive smelling session of select materials
