Upcoming Event: Fragrance Business 2008

During this year’s HBA Global Expo, held Sept. 9–11 at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, P&F’s sister magazine Global Cosmetic Industry (GCI) will be holding Fragrance Business 2008. This event, which also spans Sept. 9–11, focuses on the business of fragranced products and includes expert speakers, a sponsored pavilion on the HBA show floor and a cocktail reception on Sept. 10.

This one-of-a-kind business conference and fragrance pavilion is designed for marketers and brand managers of fragranced products. Fragrance Business spans the full array of fragranced products:

  • Bath and Body
  • Candles
  • Home Fragrance
  • Fine Fragrance
  • Aromatherapy
  • Spa
  • Hair Care

Among the expert speakers, Rochelle Bloom (The Fragrance Foundation) will present at the Fragrance Business Awards Luncheon to be held Sept. 10 at noon. Instead of focusing on what needs improving in the fragrance industry, Bloom will discuss the category’s unique qualities and potential. Following Bloom, Karen Young (The Young Group) will take an inside look at what’s happening in the world of home fragrance, including what’s new, what’s working and what’s not. The day ends with the talk “Fragrance Super Trends 2025” by Jeanine Recckio (Mirror, Mirro Imagination Group) to examine how fragrance will change the way we live.

Kicking off Thursday, Sept. 11, IFF perfumer Christophe Laudamiel will show how architecture/design and perfumery are intimately linked and how they can benefit from each other. According to Laudamiel, the 21st century will shed a new light on architecture thanks to olfaction, and will be the century for the “Enlightenment of Perfumery.”
