SFP Announces International Perfume Creator Contest for 2012

As part of the celebration of its 70th anniversary, set to take place in 2012, the French Society of Perfumers (SFP) has announced the 2012 International Prize for Perfume Creator awards contest, with a theme of Le Parfum c'est la Fête! Occurring every two years, the awards have been built to recognize composers and creators of perfumes who are under the age of 35 who freely express their creativity in developing a fragrance submission. The submissions aren’t subject to a price limit, but they do have to adhere to IFRA regulations. The deadline for submission is March 10, 2012.

For the judging process, fragrance submissions will be evaluated by two juries—one technical, made up of perfumers and evaluators, who will judge the submissions on their creative and technical merit, and then will present a selection to the second, artistic jury. The artistic jury, made up of individuals from the worlds of art, fashion, trade, literature and culture, will identify three nominees and choose a winner, making an assessment from the consumer perspective.

For 2012, the prize will include a trophy and €2,000, which will be formally presented during the SFP’s 70th anniversary celebration in 2012. Complete rules and additional will be available at www.parfumeur-createur.com.
