Lanxess Names Papadourakis President, CEO

Lanxess Corp., a specialty chemicals company which has worked with contracted partner Symrise on menthol production, has named Antonis Papadourakis as president and CEO of the company and country speaker for the NAFTA Region, effective July 1, 2015. 

He replaces Flemming Bjoernslev, who is leaving his position to take over new responsibilities within the Lanxess group. Bjoernslev has served as president and CEO since October 2012, acting as the managing director for the NAFTA Region.

Papadourakis has mostly recently served as the regional group president Americas at Altuglas International, a unit of Arkema group, since 2012. In his new role at Lanxess, he will also become business unit head, responsible for all NAFTA activities, of the High Performance Materials business unit (BU HPM).
