The Fragrance Foundation’s board of directors has announced that John Ledes, publisher and editor of Cosmetic World and Beauty Fashion, will be honored at this year’s Circle of Champions dinner on October 16, at The St. Regis Hotel in New York. The Circle of Champions Award is presented annually at a dinner ceremony held in honor of an individual who has made a notable impact on the fragrance industry. Ledes is now chairman of the board of Beauty Fashion, Astor-Honor Books and The Ledes Group, the latter of which publishes Beauty Fashion, Cosmetic World, BeautyFacts and Boxing Digest. In 1989, Ledes coined and popularized the name “FiFi” for The Fragrance Foundation’s annual award ceremony, which honors the industry’s notable achievements and successes.
Of this year’s award winner, The Fragrance Foundation’s president Rochelle Bloom said, “John’s impact in the industry is remarkable. He has continually been a positive and influential voice of the cosmetic and fragrance industries through his numerous publications and editorials. Therefore, it is only fitting that he be inducted into the Circle of Champions.”
