The flavor and fragrance industry has taken an increased interest in green issues and sustainability over the last decade, mirroring a global ecological trend. Now comes word that Rohm and Haas, a specialty materials company serving the personal care industry, has named Catherine Hunt corporate sustainability director. Hunt is responsible for integrating sustainability into the company's operations. Of the appointment, Rohm and Haas president and COO Pierre R. Brondeau said, "We are pleased to have Katie in this role, as her passion for sustainability and her broad internal and external networks will prove valuable as we incorporate sustainability objectives in all of our business, research and development, and operations."
