Symrise's Profits Are Looking Up For Q2

Symrise reports a 38% profit increase for the second quarter, driven by emerging market sales, which jumped 32% in local currency and now account for 47% of total sales (first half: 48%). The company noted, "The slight decline compared to the prior-year-period reflects the regional sales mix of Diana, which generates the majority of its sales in developed markets."

Group sales increased 41% to €1.3 billion, with an earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBIDTA) of 22.6%.

Heavily influenced by the Diana Group acquisition, Symrise's profits grew to €268 million; reports also show Symrise's sales incease by 13% excluding the merger.

Individual divisions also display an increase, including Scent & Care by 11% to €546.5 million and Flavor & Nutrition by 75% to €784.3 million.
