The doors of Perfume: A Sensory Journey Through Contemporary Scent opened on June 21, 2017. The exhibition, at London’s Somerset House, explores fragrance through the 20th century while highlighting today’s hits. Coty—which took part in the shaping of the modern industry at the turn of the century—is serving as a principal partner of the exhibit.

Visitors are first greeted with 10 trailblazing scents of the 20th century, one for each decade, from Coty’s 1905 L’Origan de Coty to ck one (Calvin Klein, 1994). L’Origan de Coty, now out of circulation, was re-created for the exhibit. These landmark fragrances mirror 10 21st century scents highlighted in the exhibit that celebrate the fragrance industry of today.

The exhibition’s guests can also interact with and receive instructions from fragrance professionals in a fully functioning perfume laboratory with 200 ingredients, which will host hands-on workshops.

“Coty is on a mission to bring back the magic of fragrance. François Coty invented the modern prestige perfume and beauty industry and Coty has accumulated unique savoir-faire in fragrances that contribute to our category leader position. We also have an outstanding portfolio of brands and products which enables us offer the most relevant propositions to our consumers,” said Alexis Vaganay, general manager, Coty Luxury, U.K. & Ireland.

The exhibit runs through September 17, 2017.
