Located in China's Zhejiang Province, Jiande will be the home of International Flavors and Fragrances' (IFF) new fragrance ingredient plant.

IFF has a 50-year presence in China, according to Nicolas Mirzayantz, the group's fragrance president. A strategic move for the US-based company, the new 165,000 square meter facility will serve customers globally and deliver its sustainability goals. IFF's existing plant in China will serve as a training center in 2018 for 100 Chinese employees in production skills, best safety practices and sustainability, among others.

Additionally, the plant will deliver IFF's 2020 sustainability initiatives that are catered to the region's environmental concerns. The resource-efficient facility is designed to have the lowest consumption of water per kilo of production, as well as the latest odor abatement equipment to meet environmental standards.
