DöhlerGroup Acquires Delta Aromatic

DöhlerGroup has acquired the fruit processing and flavor unit of Delta Aromatic (DELRO) in order to increase its proximity to customers in Africa and the Middle East as well as deliver products quickly and cost-effectively.

DELRO, an Egyptian specialist for fruit and vegetable ingredients with a portfolio of mango, white guava, strawberry, apricot and tomato, will become part of the DöhlerGroup and will serve as the production and service hub for markets in Africa and the Middle East. Meanwhile, Delta Aromatic's fragrance and agriculture business units are not part of the acquisition agreement and will be operated as independent company.

The new company name of the production site in Cairo will be: Döhler Egypt for the Production of Natural Fruit & Beverage Ingredients S.A.E. DELRO's management team will remain on board and will lead the newly formed Döhler Egypt.

The DöhlerGroup, headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany, has 23 production and 24 application centers, 50 sales offices and sales activities in over 130 countries. Döhler Egypt is the first Döhler production site on the African continent and it says the regional market offers many advantages including premium natural resources as well as Egypt´s membership of the free trade zones, Common Market for Eastern and South Africa (COMESA) for the Eastern and Southern African markets and Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) for the Arab market.
