cyclone_425

Madagascar's category four cyclone has put the status of the vanilla crop into question. It has been the strongest hurricane that the country has seen for 13 years. The damage has been severe for both human and material objects, but the outcome of the vanilla crop is still in question. With previous cyclones, Hudah and Gafilo, vanilla plots have been less impacted. Even when cities like Antalaha suffered extreme damages, the vanilla was able to pull through.

PROVA is assisting farmers in seven villages where the vanilla program is located. The company continues to work to support local organizations and communities. The company is working to ensure that the whole supply chain experiences as little damage as possible.
