BASF, Sigma-Aldrich Recognized Among Most Sustainable in World

Chemical giant BASF SE and Sigma-Aldrich, both which operate in the flavor and fragrance ingredients space, have again ranked high among the Corporate Knight's annual list of the most sustainable companies in the world.

For 2015, BASF ranked number 12 and Sigma-Aldrich Corp. ranked number 20 in the 2015 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World (Global 100) Index, a recognition that identifies the top overall sustainability performers in their respective industrial sectors. Both companies held the same rankings as the year prior.

The Global 100 is determined using 12 quantitative sustainability indicators that range from the amount of revenue companies generate per unit of energy consumed to innovation capacity and lost-time injury rate.
