Symrise Releases 2009 CSR Report

Symrise (Holzminden, Germany) has launched its 2009 corporate social responsibility report (CSR), "Perspectives." The company measures its CSR against the pillars of environment, employees, society and economy, articulated as Caring for Nature, Respecting People, Serving Society and Securing Success. Symrise's activities include the pursuit of renewable resources, energy-saving technologies, talent management programs and nutrition projects for children.

Of the report, Helmut Frieden, corporate vice president corporate compliance, said, “Social and ecological responsibility has always been a very high priority for Symrise as a worldwide leading company in the fragrance and flavorings industry. We have already achieved a lot in recent years, including the more efficient use of natural resources, combined with a reduction in emissions, and the communication of guidelines on healthy nutrition for children and young people. The clearly defined guidelines and topics comprising the revised CSR strategy enhance transparency and play an important role in our long-term business success. The report provides intriguing insights into the issues that are, and will remain, important for Symrise and the society we are part of.”
