Givaudan Q1 2007 Results

Givaudan (Geneva) has reported first quarter 2007 sales of CHF 890 million, an increase of 19.8% in local currencies over the same quarter 2006.

Fragrance: The fragrance division recorded first quarter sales of CHF 530.5 million, a growth of 8.8% in local currencies and 8.0% in Swiss francs. Fine fragrances showed single-digit growth. Sales in Europe and Latin America grew double digit, while sales in North America declined. Consumer products showed double-digit growth, with all segments delivering good growth. Fragrance ingredients recorded a strong first quarter, with specialty product sales growing at a double-digit rate.

Flavor: The flavor division recorded first quarter sales of CHF 594.4 million, an increase of 2.4% in local currencies and 0.7% in Swiss francs. All regions showed strong growth, except for North America which showed a flat development compared to last year’s results. Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and Middle East reported high single-digit growth, while Latin America posted double-digit growth.
