Givaudan Nine Month 2006 Results

Givaudan (Geneva) has reported nine month 2006 sales (from January to September 2006) of CHF 2,200.5 million, an increase of 3.3% in local currencies and 5.5% in Swiss francs. The fragrance division recorded sales for the period of CHF 918.6 million, representing a growth of 5.7% in local currencies and 8.0% in Swiss francs. Fine fragrances continued its double digit growth rate in all regions, driven by new wins. In fragrance ingredients, sales of specialties continued to increase at a double-digit rate, offsetting the planned decline in commodity ingredients.

The flavor division recorded sales for the period of CHF 1,281.9 million, an increase of 1.6% in local currencies and 3.8% in Swiss francs. Sales in Asia Pacific declined slightly primarily due to the Japanese beverage segment. Latin America posted single-digit growth, with confectionery and savory achieving double-digit growth. Sales in North America remained steady, while sales in Europe increased with confectionery growing at a double-digit rate.
