Cognis and WILD (Heidelberg, Germany) have signed separate agreements for Europe and the United States on global cooperation in the field of food applications. The companies will jointly develop new products and systems, with a particular focus on the beverage, nutritional bars, sweets and ice cream markets. Within the framework of the cooperation, Cognis ingredients will be incorporated into WILD’s flavor systems and fruit preparations. The agreement combines Cognis’ portfolio of emulsifiers, compounds and functional ingredients with WILD’s expertise in developing formulations and mixing systems. As a part of the agreement, joint technical project teams will be set up to better meet customers’ needs.
Of the agreement, Cognis head of business development nutrition and health Norbert Weitkemper said, “The combination of WILD’s formulation expertise and Cognis’ broad range of ingredients is a perfect strategic match. As a team we will be able to develop and market new solutions effectively, and cover a wide range of consumer needs in the field of health and functional ingredients.”
