Sensient Technologies Corp. (Milwaukee) has reported first quarter 2008 revenue of $307.4 million, an increase of 7.8% from the first quarter 2007. Operating income for the period increased 15.8% on higher sales and improved margins.
The flavors and fragrances group reported revenue for the quarter of $195.2 million, an increase of 8.1%. Group revenue in the quarter benefited from favorable foreign currency translation and improved pricing.
Of the results, Sensient chairman and CEO Kenneth Manning said, “For the first quarter, we reported record revenue and our ninth consecutive quarter of strong earnings growth. We see favorable pricing and growth in several key product lines, and we expect our strong performance to continue throughout the year.”
