2012 WPC: A Thank You and Word About the Future

Last Thursday, on stage with American Society of Perfumers (ASP) president Alice Rebeck, we announced that on June 10–12, 2014, Deauville, France, will serve as the location for the 2014 World Perfumery Congress (WPC).

The announcement capped off two and a half days of conferences, exhibitions and networking opportunities in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Find photos from the event here. The organizers are extremely pleased with the results and will draw on attendee and sponsor feedback to build on this year's success to continue the event's evolution.

Without our sponsors, speakers, moderators and attendees we could not have put on this year's conference. We thank them for their trust, support and guidance.

And, of course, the efforts of the 2012 WPC advisory board cannot be overlooked. Ted Kesten (Belmay), Marvel Fields (Symrise), Steve Hicks (P&G), Pierre Sivac (IFRA) and Dennis Maroney (IFF) sacrificed many hours to provide crucial insights for the creation of this year's event program. We cannot thank them enough.

We must also thank Alice Rebeck and the entire board of the ASP for their trust and support in assembling this year's event. We look forward to a continuing relationship.

Finally, I would like to thank the Allured and Perfumer & Flavorist teams, those staff members often working exhaustively behind the scenes to build the WPC: Sandy Chapin, Mary Richter, Paige Crist, Andrea Blood and Laura Allured.

I thank you all and look forward to serving the industry in the years to come.
