Naturex Reports 1st Quarter Sales Growth in All Markets and Regions

Plant-based ingredients company Naturex has released its 1st quarter sales numbers, which show strong growth over the same period last year. The company saw €73.5 million in revenues, which is a 14.8% increase over the first quarter of 2011—12.6% at constant currencies. The food and beverage division made up 65.1% of revenues with €47.8 million. Personal care, while still a small part of the company's revenue, brought in €1.3million, more than doubling the €548,000 it generated in the first quarter of last year.

Naturex acquired Pektowin and Burgundy Botanical extracts in late 2011, and those brought in €1.4 million and €2.4 million, respectively.

Europe/Africa was the company's biggest and most stable market—51.5% of revenue came from those regions, but it was only a 4.2% increase over the same quarter last year.
