Aromatech announced plans to strengthen its market position in China through a joint venture with Chinese flavor and fragrance company Apple Flavor & Fragrance Co., Ltd. In 2003, Aromatech created a subsidiary in Hangzhou, China to help penetrate the growing market there, and this collaboration signifies a further extension of the company’s development into Asian markets.
The two companies’ collaboration began in 2010 with a cooperation agreement helping to build the relationship and recognize synergies within the companies. Now, a year later, Apple and Aromatech decided to create a joint venture with the objective of developing high-quality flavors for the Chinese market with the French expertise. This further led to the official creation of a business licence registration.
The collaboration combines the position and industrial performance of Apple Flavor & Fragrance with Aromatech’s technological expertise, particularly in natural and organic flavors. As part of the collaboration, an Aromatech R&D lab is being integrated onto the Apple Flavor & Fragrance premises, and subsequently, products developed from the collaboration will benefit from a high technological value and meet the growing Chinese food market expectations.
