Vigon Partners with US Customs and Border Protection in Supply Chain Security

Vigon International has become a certified partner with the US Customs and Border Protection agency in its Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program. C-TPAT is a voluntary government/ business initiative directed by the Department of Homeland Security to build cooperative relationships that are designed to improve US border and international supply chain security, and to qualify for C-TPAT, Vigon was required to ensure the integrity of its security practices, as well as communicate and verify the security guidelines of its business partners within its supply chain.

Other potential benefits of Vigon’s partnership in C-TPAT for its suppliers, carriers, customers and employees include a reduced number of CBP inspections, with reduced potential for border delays; greater predictability and accuracy to forecast lead times; shorter wait times for carriers at borders; a  validated approach for enhancing security throughout the supply chain process; a safer and more efficient working environment and material transport process benefiting employees, carriers and customers; and the potential to help reduce loss, damage and pilferage of goods.
