FEMA Puts Out Call for Nominations for 2011 FEMA Excellence in Science Award

FEMA has announced a call for nominations for its 2011 FEMA Excellence in Science Award. This award recognizes an industry researcher or a researcher from academia who is dedicated to advancing the science of flavor through original published research in peer-reviewed journals on the topics of flavor chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology or biotechnology. Nominations are due by Friday, June 3, 2011.

A selection committee appointed by the FEMA board of governors reviews all nominated candidates and recommends a finalist to the full board for approval. The final award recipient will be invited to make a plenary presentation at the FEMA Fall Symposium in October and will be reimbursed for travel and accommodations. Additionally, this person will also receive a special honorarium and a gift from FEMA.
