The Fragrance Foundation hosted the 2011 FiFi Finalists Breakfast, announcing winners in the categories for technological breakthrough and editorial excellence in fragrance coverage, as well as recognized Jean Paul Gaultier as its 2011 Hall of Fame recipient. It also named the top five finalists in the FiFi Awards categories.
In the category “Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage—Women’s Scent Feature,” Allure magazine took home the prize for its September 2010 feature "Poetic License." In “Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage—Men’s Scent Feature,” there was a tie, with Elle magazine being recognized for its December 2010 "Picking Up His Scent" feature and Marie Claire magazine winning for its "Making Scents for Men" feature from its October 2010 issue. In the “Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage—Women’s Scent Bite” category, Elle magazine took home the FiFi for its September 2010 "Mix Masters", while the winner for the “Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage—Blog” category was Elle.com’s "An Eau of Our Own" from October 2010.
In the “Technological Breakthrough of the Year—Fragrance Creation & Formulation” category, Robertet won for its Seed to Scent development process, while the winner for the “Packaging Technology & Delivery Systems” category was IFF for its Redken Radiant Sea Spray system. Additionally, Firmenich was recognized in the “Information Technology” category for its osMoz iPhone app.
