Frutarom Partners with German Institute of Food Technologies

Frutarom’s (Haifa, Israel) savory solutions division has entered into an agreement with the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL) in which the institute will research starter culture exclusively for Frutarom, helping the company to improve the stability and safety of its food products.

Dieter Albers, head of R&D at Frutarom Savory Solutions Europe and former DIL employee, said of the agreement, “With the DIL, we have gained an outstanding partner. During the course of our cooperation, we will systematically explore specific issues in the field of cultures and fermented foods and consequently implement this knowledge. Our aim is always to further increase the safety of food products—and to make them healthier.”

DIL director Volker Heinz also commented, saying “We have no doubt that the collaboration with Frutarom will be successful and very results-oriented. Industry cooperations are highly relevant for us, though such an exclusive cooperation is unusual. In this project, we will consolidate our comprehensive know-how with Frutarom’s expertise.”
