Takasago (Tokyo) announced it has purchased new production facilities for its North American contingent in order to help boost its fragrance production, investing approximately US$9 million in the new buildings, renovations and equipment. Renovations of the facilities, which are located in Harriman, New York, will begin during 2011, and commencement of operations in the new facilities is expected in early 2012. Takasago expects output from the new facilities to be around 15,000 tons per year, which will help enable the company to aggressively pursue fragrance business and serve its customers in the coming years. Further plans also indicate Takasago’s desire to create a streamlined supply system that integrates manufacturing and logistics.
