FDA Launches Basics for Industry Website

FDA Basics for Industry is a new website from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that offers assistance to companies and individuals searching for information on regulatory processes, including information often requested by industry. The site is part of the agency’s transparency initiative, and it features questions, answers, videos and other materials describing how the FDA works to protect and promote public health. Of the new site, FDA commissioner Margaret Hamburg, MD, said, “Clarity and consistency are pillars of an effective regulatory system that efficiently regulates products essential to health. In order to succeed, the FDA must clearly communicate standards and expectations to the industries it regulates.”
