Ajinomoto (Tokyo, Japan) has has reported net sales for the period ending September 30 of 606.6 billion yen, a gain of 6%, year-over-year. Net income reached 13.9 billion yen.
Overseas food product sales jumped 28% (76.8 billion yen) on the strength of strong flavor seasoning results in Asia and South America. Umami seasonings contributed to the growth in Asia and West Africa. Domestic food product sales, meanwhile, gained just 1%, reaching 315.1 billion yen.
