ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages and controls the company’s fragrance product lifecycle including the systems and processes therefore, including:

  • Fragrance Specifications
  • Fragrance Development

  • Reformulation

  • SKU Rationalization
  • Fragrance Retirement

Conducts product analysis including olfactory testing to ensure products meet performance standards throughout the company’s range of scent delivery systems

First line support to the Sales and Marketing teams, requiring interaction with clients, suppliers and other team members to assist in the promotion and sale of the company’s offerings. Guides key customers through fragrance evaluation and, where applicable, leads custom fragrance development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

FISA (Flavor Infusion, SA) is looking for a Flavorist or Senior Flavorist to join us in developing a flavor creation center down in our brand new R&D and Mfg facility in Panama Pacifico, Panama (just outside of Panama City). The position will require expertise in creating flavors, emulsions and extracts for all beverage applications focused on the Latin American, Caribbean market. Additionally, the position will require a great teamwork approach to foster an excellent working relationship with the Flavor Creation Team in Laguna Beach, CA by providing on-site creative support to our R&D group in Panama.

Requirements:

  • To provide expertise in all aspects of flavor creation, flavor quality, flavor logistics, raw material management, beverage development support, manufacturing assistance, and flavor administration.
  • Collaborate daily with product development to satisfy customer project requirements by offering, timely flavor development and customer support as well as providing sound problem-solving leadership.
  • To lead assigned initiatives that will expand our flavor creative expertise, to improve flavor efficiencies, and enhance customer support.
  • To possess good communication skills, bi-lingual- English (required) and Spanish.
  • To be energetic, clear minded and solution-driven enough to handle the dynamics of a fast passed, innovative, and growing company that collaborates daily between California and Panama.
  • BS degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related sciences.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in creating quality flavors, emulsions and extracts.
  • Proficient in flavor emulsion systems for beverage applications and the ability to expand our emulsion capabilities, offerings and expertise.
  • Adept in citrus extractions.
  • Acute ability to identify characteristics of a flavor’s profile and able to articulate feedback in a concise manner.
  • Possess the talent to successfully duplicate targeted flavor profiles found in the marketplace in a timely and economical fashion.
  • In depth knowledge and experience with an extensive range of GRAS flavor raw materials; aroma chemicals, essential oils, absolutes, extracts, and oleoresins.
  • Trustworthy knowledge and experience with flavor labeling and global regulatory information.
