The role of Regulatory Compliance Officer includes the execution of regulatory compliance document reviews, preparation of various documents supporting regulatory compliance, frequent direct interaction with customers and direct interaction with regulatory authorities where applicable. The incumbent will be responsible for reading, comprehending and applying subject matter expertise to flavor ingredient compliance.


  • Keeps current in regulations and prepares regulatory documents.
  • Provides product information to customers with respect to domestic and foreign regulatory requirements in the area of global regulations and related laws.
  • Reviews and makes necessary revisions to existing product specifications, safety data sheets, and other standard regulatory documents, as needed.
  • Works with teams to help develop necessary paperwork and documents for new product development and prepares the documentation
  • Working knowledge of local, state, & federal laws that impact our industry.
  • Ability to prepare local, state, & federal documents as required.
  • Ensures advanced knowledge and understanding of all relevant regulatory trends. Must possess attention to detail, sense of urgency and analytical capabilities.
  • Must be familiar with FEMA, IOFI & IFRA.
  • Will act as our representative to FEMA and attend quarterly meetings.
  • Must be motivated, proactive, and a team player.
  • Will report directly to Director of Technology


  • 5+ years’ experience in the flavor industry, primarily in regulatory compliance
  • BS in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field required.

Senior Organic Chemist

North American Technical Director (permanent position)

Directly reporting to the Vice-president of Technical-commercial, the role of the Technical Director will be:

  • Managing and structuring of the various technical teams (R&D, application and legislation) throughout all sites in North America
  • Work together with the sales team, the marketing group and the administrator of the technical-commercial group to favor the link between sales and technical and to favor a better communication and work flow.
  • Favor education and the pursuit of technical expertise to promote the various talents of Foodarom’s technical team.
  • Coordinate the various longer term projects and plan for the capital expenditure needed over the year for the technical team.
  • Work together and cooperate with the European site and all other services of the company.
  • This position will be located in St-Hubert Quebec but will involve frequent traveling to the other sites of Foodarom in North America.

Qualifications required

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in a related technical field of Chemistry, Food Science or Biology.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the flavor industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a team manager.
  • Good technical knowledge of flavor chemistry.
  • Positive attitude towards working in groups, facility with communication and ability to motivate teams.
  • Strategic aptitudes to foresee the needs of the technical group.

Certified Flavorist

Primarily responsible for technical activities associated with development of new and existing flavor lines. Apply flavor development skills, project management skills to create and match new flavors as requested by our customers or to meet the strategies of Prinova Flavor Division. Perform all duties following established laboratory procedures and establish and document new procedures as necessary. Mentor Flavorist-In-Training thru flavorist certification process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Identify, source and maintain a library of raw materials both natural and synthetic to be used in the development of new flavors. Establish and foster relationships with raw material suppliers.

Work in close alliance with Flavor Regulatory Department to include most current required supporting documents for raw materials including: Product Specification, Safety Data Sheet, Allergen Statement, Country of Origin, Kosher Certificate and Statement of Continuing Guarantee, and Nutritional and other documentation as deemed necessary.

Develop liquid and dry flavors to meet the requirements of project requests within a reasonable timeframe that meets the needs of our customer and divisional strategies. Provide direct and ongoing communication with customers and sales representatives regarding project tracking/status and completion timeline.

Work in close alliance with Flavor Analytical Group for duplication efforts.

Conduct all development applying established Prinova product development procedures, establish and document new procedures as necessary. Ensure that Junior Flavorist and Flavor Compounders follow procedures when creating and compounding flavors under Flavorist directions.

Participate in ongoing flavor training and professional organizations to stay current with new developments and trends in the flavor industry. This including routine tastings of aroma raw materials with the flavor group.

Provide technical and sensory training of flavor raw materials to Flavor Applications and Quality staff.

Conduct and participate in sensory panels to determine the level of product duplication or acceptance as a match and that material both raw and finished comply with sensory standards.

Provide technical support and advise production on the commercialization and scale up of new flavors and flavor manufacturing processes.

Other duties as deemed necessary by President or Business Manager or Senior Flavorist.

Supervisory Responsibilities No direct supervisory responsibilities; however mentoring Flavorist-In-Training to qualify for Certified Flavorist status will be important.
