Letter to the Editor: Rose Oil in Kashmiri India

Dear Editor,

We recently discovered that the distillation still used to distill Kashmiri rose oil analyzed in our report* had processed geranium oil before distilling the rose oil. Unfortunately, the still was not thoroughly cleaned and the reported presence of isomenthone, geranyl formate, citronellyl formate and 10-epi-eudesmol in Kashmir rose oil came from contamination of geranium oil.

We regret this error.

Sincerely,
R.P. Adams and A.S. Shawl
