UK Residents Stumble on Ambergris

Sean Kane and Ian Foster recently found a 110-pound lump of ambergris on a beach in North Wales. Ambergris, bile secreted by sperm whales that is exposed to the sun and sea, is a very valuable material used in the fragrance industry. Kane and Foster are hoping that they will be able to sell the ambergris for up to £500,000. This might prove difficult for them, since the industry has in recent years moved away from expensive natural ingredients such as Ambergris, to rely on artificial chemicals. In addition, the only facility in the world that processes Ambergris in found in France.
